Miss Shirley Anne Raymond, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Raymond , Chicago, became the bride of Robert Oliver, son of Mrs. Esther Oliver, Gainer Park, and grandson of Mrs. L. Broadbent, Gainer Park, at four o'clock Saturday, October 22, at a simple ceremony in the rectory of the Immaculate Heart of Mary church, N. Spaulding, with only the immediate families present.
The attendants were the bride's sister, Miss Marilyn Raymond, and Harold Weissmann, of Chicago.
The bride wore the traditional white satin and carried white roses with a white orchid. Her attendant wore a green satin dress, and carried yellow roses.
Later in the evening, a reception was held at the American Legion hall on Elston ave., for about two hundred guests.
The couple are honeymooning at Miamai Beach, Florida, for two weeks. They are both employed by the Chicago & Northwestern railroad.
October 16 Mrs. L. Broadbent and her daughter Mrs. E. Oliver, Gainer Park, entertained at a family dinner party honoring their son and grandson, Robert Oliver, and his fiancee, Miss Shirley Anne Raymond of Chicago. Guests included Mr Oliver's aunt, Mrs. Lillian Patterson of Lisle, Ill., Peter Geiger of West Chicago, Mrs. Olga Broadbent and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Weissmann and Judith Anne of Chicago.
